About SFRC

The Space Force Range Contract provides ongoing support for the maintenance, modernization, systems engineering, and integration of the Eastern and Western launch ranges through the year 2035. The Eastern Range operates out of Patrick Space Force Base in Florida, while the Western Range is headquartered at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. This long-term initiative is designed to upgrade outdated systems, enhance operational capabilities, and accommodate the growing demands of both defense-related and commercial space missions.

Application Process

Q. Where do I apply?

A. Information on applying will be provided very soon. Check back regularly for updates!

Q. Will I have to interview for my job?

A. Formal interviews will not be held for any incumbent employees. 

​

Q. Do I have to complete a pre-employment drug test?

A. As part of our commitment to a Drug-Free Workplace, we do perform pre-employment drug testing. During the hiring process, HR will provide guidance regarding how and where to take the test. This activity is 100% company-paid; there is no out-of-pocket expense or insurance requirements for testers.

Q. Do I have to complete a pre-employment background screening?

A. Yes, all new hires will undergo a company-initiated background check as a requirement for employment. 

Security and Badging

​

Q. Will I be able to retain my security clearance?

A. If a security clearance is required for your position or to access the facility, we will transfer and hold your clearance appropriately. 

​

Q. Do I need to be re-badged?

A. Our Security and IT specialists will work closely with HR during phase-in to administratively transfer incumbent badges and ensure continuity of access to the SFB and Space Force systems upon hire.

​

Q. What if my badge expiration date falls during phase-in?

A. The Security team will continue to maintain your current credentials. You will receive instructions regarding any badge actions during phase-in. Please be sure to follow directions and meet provided deadlines to ensure continued access.

Pay and Benefits

​

Q. When do my benefits start?

A. Healthcare benefits will begin on day 1 of employment. Eligibility to participate in Aerodyne’s 401(k) begins on the 1st of the month following hire, unless hired on the 1st, then eligibility starts on day 1 of employment. Detailed benefits information, including timeline and offering, will be provided during your onboarding.

Q. Who is the medical carrier?

A. BlueCross BlueShield. Our medical carrier will be changing for the 2026 plan year that begins January 1, 2026. You will receive this information upon hire.  

​

Q. Will my service time be honored?

A. All incumbent employees, whose time has been validated by the successor contractor or collective bargaining unit, will have their service time and/or date recognized. Honored service time will be used to set PTO accrual rates with the SFRC PTO accrual schedule.

​

Q. Will I retain my current pay rate?

A. It is our goal to keep employees whole in terms of total compensation (i.e., pay and benefits). All pay rates must be in line with our awarded government contract or applicable collective bargaining agreement.

Q. What will our pay frequency/paycheck schedule be?

A. Aerodyne’s pay is on a bi-weekly schedule. A calendar will be provided upon hire.

Q. What is the duration of the Space Force Range Contract?

A. Period of Performance: potential 10 year contract beginning December 1, 2025. A five-year base period followed by a five-year option period.

​

Q. What is the scope of the SFRC contract?

A.  The Space Force Range Contract provides ongoing support for the maintenance, modernization, systems engineering, and integration of the Eastern and Western launch ranges through the year 2035. The Eastern Range operates out of Patrick Space Force Base in Florida, while the Western Range is headquartered at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. This long-term initiative is designed to upgrade outdated systems, enhance operational capabilities, and accommodate the growing demands of both defense-related and commercial space missions.

Q. How long is the transition period?

A. Transition is 120 days.

Q. Can I choose which company I work for on this contract?

A. No, workshare and what type of work goes to which company is decided at senior leadership level. Each company is required to have comparable benefits and policies. We work together as one integrated team.
