Neil Mizell among many Aerodyne Employees honored at NASA KSC Honor Awards Ceremony

Aerodyne Industries’ Neil Mizell honored at the NASA KSC Honor Awards Ceremony with an Outstanding Public Leadership Medal for his support to the Test and Operations Support Contract (TOSC) at Kennedy Space Center in a virtual event held May 13, 2022.

This prestigious NASA medal is awarded to non‐government individuals for notable leadership accomplishments that have significantly influenced the NASA Mission. Neil was honored for exceptional leadership and dedication in meeting NASA’s Exploration Ground Systems Program Command & Control Artemis I commitments.

He joined Aerodyne in 2013 and has been integral to the success of NASA’s Artemis Program by providing strategic guidance regarding design and operations of the Spaceport Command & Control Systems to process and launch the Space Launch System, the most powerful rocket NASA has ever built.

In addition to Neil’s medal, many Aerdyne TOSC Teammates were honored.

John McClelland, Lead of Engine Avionics, received a NASA Silver Group Achievement Award for his support to the Space Launch System Engine Avionics Team. John contributed to the successful development of launch console displays, software, procedures, and Engine Avionics team training in preparation for the processing and launch of Artemis I.

In the Institutional Category of Best of KSC Software Awards, Marianne Rigolini and Evie Tompkins were honored for development of the Secure Notification Application (SNAPP). The SNAPP tool provided a method to securely enter, track, status and report TOSC personnel and TOSC subcontractors (in addition, tracks non‐TOSC employee close contacts) exposed to COVID‐19. In addition, SNAPP provided the following capabilities: real‐time metrics, effective case management for return to work, and a vaccine-tracking component.
